28 Weeks

How far along: 28 weeks
Total weight gain: 23 lbs.
Sleep: My hips still hurt and rolling over is almost impossible now.
Sickness: Nope
Cravings: salads (weird because before I was pregnant I hated lettuce) salt, breads
Make me queasy: Yogurt of any kind
General Symptoms: lung crushing and stretching pains.
Miss anything: SANDWICHES
Maternity Clothes: Just the same maternity jeans and tops and I still mix in some old stretchy favorites
Movement: Pretty good. It doesn't seem to be as frequent as it was before (don't fret I already asked the doctor and everything is fine) but they are strong when I do feel them. I guess little baby Wilson is starting to run out of room lol.
Gender Prediction: I go back and forth. I think I'm going to switch to team boy for a while and try to make it even ;)

Names I like at the moment:
Girl: Claire, Olivia, Charlotte (Charlie), Lucy
Boy: Jack, Edward (Ed, Eddie), Nathan (Nate), Neal, Luke

The baby is now the size of an eggplant. The baby could now reasonably survive if it was born now because it's lungs are mostly fully formed. It would still need the NICU but it would make it! It's also putting on fat and stretching out that wrinkly skin.

The Suns Game

Last night Max and I got to go to a Phoenix Suns game and it was so much fun! Someone at work got free tickets from a vendor and gave them away so I jumped on the chance. We were in the fancy terrace section. This section had it's own buffet with chef, bar, bathrooms (important for this preggo ;-) ), and super comfy seats. It was a great excuse for a date and everything was totally free!

We were tied with like 15 seconds left but ended up losing at the buzzer. It was a great game though and a nice date night with the hubby.

What a great start to the weekend!

New Look!

Hi All!

As you can clearly see I have changed the look and feel of my blog! I think this look is a bit more fun and less like a 4th grade project. There are still a few kinks to work out so bear with me as I recall my computer coding classes :).

 I hope you like it.

Let me know what you think!

Weekend bbq

This past weekend was very nice and relaxing. I haven't feel like I have had a true weekend off in a while so this weekend was awesome.

Saturday we had my friend from my old job and her family over for dinner. The have graciously given us a boat load of baby stuff and were dropping off the final pieces. So a BBQ dinner for their family was the least we could do. Max woke up early and got the smoker going so we could have some pulled pork sandwich and sausages. Even though I woke up shortly after him because I was so hungry and he was making so much noise it didn't seem to bother me. We spent the nice sunny day watching tv, cleaning, and smoking delicious food.

Honey waiting for everyone to get here!

Having them over was so much fun! We haven't been able to get together for a while just due to holidays and schedules. It was also nice to hang out with their two kids; they have a 4 yr. old daughter and an almost 2 year old son. It was like a small practice run in our house. Finding out the weak points were where they could get into trouble. And not to mention just how cute and adorable they are. I felt weird picking up and snuggling with someone else kid all day but they didn't stop me so I rolled with it. Who can resist kiddos?!

We watched some Disney movies which never bothers me seeing as I have a massive collection going. And the best part was their daughter asked to watch Aladdin (my all time favorite movie) without me even mentioning it to her. I was trying really hard not to quote the movie the whole time but some parts I just can't resist :). Max of course did great with their son, picking him up, letting him eat off his plate, keeping his curious mind and hands away from the smoker and oven.

Sunday was a pretty boring but restful day. Max spent the whole day with him mom helping her edit some work papers so I spent the day watching Netflix, crocheting the baby blanket (check out the tutorial tab soon to see it and a how-to), and eating delicious left overs. Even though by the end of the night I had a massive headache from staring at the tv all day it was worth it to have a couch potato day.

Hope you had a great weekend too!

26 Weeks

HELLO THIRD TRIMESTER!

We are getting so close to meeting our little nugget.

How far along: 26 weeks
Total weight gain: 20 lbs.
Sleep: My hips still hurt and rolling over is almost impossible now.
Sickness: Nope
Cravings: salads (weird because before I was pregnant I hated lettuce) salt, hummus, chips
Make me queasy: Yogurt of any kind
General Symptoms: lung crushing and stretching pains.
Miss anything: Red meat, sandwiches, and seafood
Maternity Clothes: Just the same maternity jeans and tops and I still mix in some old stretchy favorites
Movement: Quite a bit! Sometimes the kicks to the rib cage are not quite as cute. And bladder punches really sting almost like pins. Max has started to really enjoy feeling the baby move in there but doesn't know how to ask. So he always try's to sneak a feel while we're cuddling and I have to tell him it's ok :). He's such a sweetie. A few days ago we were cuddling on the sofa and he had his hand on my belly the whole night and after about 10min he said "It feels like it moves constantly, how do you focus on anything else!".
Gender Prediction: I go back and forth. I think I'm back on train girl. But I can't wait to find out!

Names I like at the moment:
Girl: Claire, Olivia, Alice, Eloise (Ellie), Charlotte (Charlie), Lucy
Boy: Jack, Edward (Ed, Eddie), Milo, Nathan (Nate), Ethan, Neal, Luke,

The baby is now the size of a head of lettuce. Maybe that's why I'm craving it now :). It's eyes are forming and will soon start to open. It's eyelashes are now fully formed and it's taking "breaths" of amniotic fluid in practice for air!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I can't believe it's 2015 already! And that I am finally in the same year as my baby's birthday. I am beyond excited to meet this bundle of joy.

I know I am a little behind on the Holiday post but Christmas was so hectic with seeing family, showing off the bump ;-), running around to see everyone, and trying to edit all the awesome pictures below :).

We spent Christmas in AZ with Max's family this year and it was super busy but fun. Max's 16 yr. cousin Katie (Yes this is the third Katie in our family; My sister, his cousin, and my best friend. Context clues are key lol) from CA stayed with us since we are slightly cooler than Max's parents. Though I'm not sure a pregnant cousin-in-law who falls asleep at like 9-10PM is really that cool :).

Christmas Eve we opened all the presents from Max's family over at their house and had a small gathering that night for dinner and a movie. Of course we watched Christmas Vacation, a classic. Max's parents got me "Mommy-and-me" swim lessons and I am sooooo excited!! I love swimming and it will be a great way to meet other mommies and babies. And I wanted to start the baby swimming young since everyone and their mother has a swimming pool in Phoenix, gotta keep the baby safe!

Christmas morning was just Katie, Max and I. Opening all the presents on Christmas morning is my family's tradition and I am unwilling to it give up. So I carved some time out before leaving to see the rest of the family for just Max and I (and Katie of course since she was staying with us) to open presents from each other and Santa :).
Pictures to come soon! Work has gotten in the way of editing and deleting the ones that are not as flattering :)

That night we went over to Max's Aunt's house. The whole extended family was there and children everywhere. And we finally got to meet the newest addition to the clan, Aaron! Max's cousin had her second baby on December 18th. He was the cutest little one week old. Until our baby arrives of course ;-).

Our New Years celebrations were much quieter which is how I like it. New Years is probably the worst holiday ever in my opinion. I love my old year. The end of the year festivities are my favorite; Halloween, Thanksgiving, my birthday, and Christmas. So New Years, which basically rubs in my face that the fun parts are all over, is not really my favorite. But I had a good time anyway.

We went over to a friends house to play an Oregon Trail drinking game. This may sound stupid but it was pretty epic. We all grew up with the old Oregon Trail game that had terrible god-forsaken graphics and awful music. It was a staple of our childhoods. Well recently one of our friends had found the game on the internet and we were all dying to re-live those glory days...with a little adult humor thrown in. So a drinking game was born. Of course I played the game with rootbeer. It has "beer" in the name after all :). We all remember this game being impossible; some of us never reached Oregon when we played it as 6-10yr olds. But apparently we are better as adults because we won on our second try.

The Oregon Trail claims its first victims

Victory!

At midnight we clinked glasses of champagne (sparkling grape cider for me) and kissed our loved ones. Max even rubbed the belly at midnight to make sure it felt included :). What a sweetie.

I hope everyone had a great Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!
